FacilityDude recently attended the 8th Annual Sustainable Energy Conference sponsored by the North Carolina Energy Office at NCSU April 26-27th to engage with industry experts on emerging trends for sustainability in the next decade. The 2011 conference opened a series of important high level green energy economy gatherings in North Carolina which attracted energy professionals, business leaders, policy shaper, educators, and key decision-makers from across the state and region.
Keynote speakers from across the USA discussed energy topics that of interest to North Carolina in the near- and long-term, and from innovative technologies, to sustainable energy policy.
Concurrent sessions focused on specific topics within the overall themes of Advancing the Green Ecomony, Utility Savings Initiative, Sustainable Energy Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, and Residential & Commercial Retrofit and New Construction. In addition, a session on the Future of the Green Economy brought together higher education students, interns, and professionals for valuable mentoring and networking.
